Hello, friends !

2009 & early 2010 has been a very eventful year for Linda &
Shari.
Take a peek at the Farm News page for some of the details . . .

There hasn't been a lot of time this past year for website updates,
but we're back on-line !  Watch for a re-designed site sometime this
summer, and Happy Foaling :-)

The Shetland Pony is one of America's most popular small equine
breeds.  Originally imported to the United States from the U.K. in the
late 1800's, today's American-bred Shetlands are very elegant small
equine that excel in disciplines from driving to jumping to obstacles.
Of course, they are also ideal mounts for children, as well as excellent
companion animals for all ages.

Showing Shetland ponies can be a very satisfying, family-oriented
activity.  The American Shetland Pony Club offers many divisions
in which Shetlands can be shown in hand or in harness.  In fact,
the Shetland pony's broad appeal is sustaining their value as well as,
or in some cases, even better than saddle horse breeds.

Here at Rhapsody Shetlands, the philosophy behind our breeding
program is that it takes a great broodmare to consistently produce
great foals.  Many of our broodmares are themselves National
Champions.
Our stallions were chosen because they
exhibit the qualities, in addition to good conformation, that we
consider important -- friendly temperaments, beautiful heads,
nice hock action and lots of chrome.

While originally concentrating on breeding ponies for the Classic
Shetland division, we are now excited to be offering ponies for
the new Foundation division, as well as Miniature Shetlands that
qualify to be shown as AMHR Miniature Horses.

Our foals are for sale by private treaty and occasionally at public
auction.  Most are nominated for either the Classic Shetland Futurity
and/or the AMHR Miniature Horse Futurity .  We will be posting
pictures of our 2009 foals as they arrive over the spring & summer,
so please visit us again.

We hope you enjoy your visit to our farm in cyberspace
(the real one is located in south central Iowa). For more information,
